Accenture to sharpen C4IR Ocean’s strategic road ahead

C4IR Ocean and Accenture to collaborate on developing projects and solutions that contribute to a healthier ocean with a special focus on the global strategy of C4IR Ocean.

Oslo, December 21st

The foundation C4IR Ocean aims to be the world's most important ocean data collaboration hub, using advanced technologies so that both ocean health and ocean economy thrive. After a successful first year, the start-up foundation now partners with the global professional services company Accenture.

"We are very excited to join forces with Accenture. The expertise and knowhow Accenture brings on core topics such as digital transformation, sustainability solutions, and strategy is formidable," says Gry Ulverud, acting CEO of C4IR Ocean.

At the foundation's core is liberating ocean data. The flagship of the foundation is the Ocean Data Platform. The Ocean Data Platform contains oceanographic and maritime data from industry, governments, science, and C4IR Ocean is incessantly working to liberate as much relevant ocean data as possible, particularly from the industrial sector. The data will, at unprecedented speed, be contextualized, so it can provide new and valuable insight for governments, scientists, and industry leaders when they make decisions that affect ocean health.

"C4IR Ocean and Accenture share a common commitment to use the power of technology to drive sustainability.  We look forward to collaborating in defining C4IR Ocean's global strategic positioning” comments Tonje Sandberg, Senior Managing Director, Accenture Nordics.
